opportunity finance network banner imageAs a member of the Opportunity Finance Network (OFN), we want to offer ecstatic congratulations to them for receiving a major award from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on the Clean Communities Investment Accelerator (CCIA) as part of the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF). This funding was created to help finance the clean energy transition in low-income and underinvested communities nationwide.

“Under the $6 billion Clean Communities Investment Accelerator, the five selected applicants will establish hubs that provide funding and technical assistance to community lenders working in low-income and disadvantaged communities, providing an immediate pathway to deploy projects in those communities while also building capacity of hundreds of community lenders to finance projects for years…..100% of capital under the CCIA is dedicated to low-income and disadvantaged communities.”

OFN was awarded $2.29 billion and we consider it a priority to support these initiatives by deploying capital and other resources that contribute to climate resilience. We want to take this time to encourage co-ops in the northeast to think BIG about what projects they could implement to reduce their carbon footprint.

Again, congratulations to OFN (as well as all other awardees). We are proud to be active members and look forward to continuing our shared work in and towards racial justice.
