CFNE was honored to be part of Ownership Capital Lab’s EO Fund Spotlight on July 17, 2025. The Spotlight was a national conversation featuring three unique models for catalytic, place-based investment in employee ownership: Seed Commons, Evergreen Cooperatives Fund for Employee Ownership, and of course, CFNE.
Our Executive Director Micha Josephy shared CFNE’s decades of experience advancing community-based, cooperative, and democratically owned enterprises in low-income communities. It was a rich and dynamic discussion alongside other economic justice leaders.
One of the most powerful things about this, and Ownership Capital Lab’s work in general, is the centering of employee ownership as an investment lens. This lens has the potential to create profound change through wealth building in communities that otherwise have less access to broad small business ownership. We applaud OCL’s efforts to put the spotlight on the opportunity before us!
