Growing the Cooperative Economy since 1975
The cooperative economy in our region is as varied and diverse as our communities:
From our own Brattleboro Food Co-op to the 14 Carrots Food Co-op in New
Hampshire; from FEDCO Seeds in Maine, to Deep Root Farmers’ Co-op in Vermont;
from Bethlehem Cooperative School in New York, to the Pigeon Cove Fishermen’s
Co-op in Rockland, Massachusetts; and from the Commonfire Foundation, a housing
coop in Tivoli, New York, to Equal Exchange in West Bridgewater, Massachusetts.
All of these cooperatives grew out of people’s desire to fulfill community needs in
a democratic and participatory manner. And while each is unique, they all share the
principles of co-operation. To read more http://www.brattleborofoodcoop.com/news/newsletter.html
